I read an article today when I was looking at the shows which made the statement, 'And I also wonder, who watches a catwalk show on the internet?' People like me who can't make it to New York for Fashion Week and want to experience something more than a still image from style.com. Having said that, there is an option now on style.com that means you can view a moving image from the catwalk. There is this appreciation now that people want to see how the clothes move and get a feeling of actually being there.
Alexander Wang has been one of my favourite shows so far, hence the posting of the video. Again, there was a lot of white, after my post yesterday, as can be seen in the video. But I found the collection refreshing, something different from his dark downtown look, although it still felt cool. There was still a sporty element, but slightly more feminine without being too girlie.
A particular highlight..love the colour, shape, knit. Open knits seem to be coming through.
Models had paint in their hair, in a kind of arty, free spirited way and the clothes felt fresh and considered.
